If you had to, you could put these overpants on, without taking your skis off.  The side zips come all the apart...so you can open them up, pull them up arond your waist and since the zipper starts at the top...just re-connect and zip down.

Since it's a two way zipper, it's eay to open up in either direction or both at the same time to give you complete air flow regulation.

Not every one is a skier, but you'd be surprised at how easy these are to put on over big boots or layers of inner clothing without the normal bending over or sitting down with all the wheezing and huffing and wiggleing your behind to pull them up.
