  If you're new to us, we may look a bit basic.  We're not a fashion house.  Since day one, our goals have been to find out what works and make it available in the most practical, functional form.

  To us, fashion is not the way we look hanging on display in the store window.  To us, fashion is simply being functional.  To us, fashion is getting the job done 

The diversity of culture, religions, skills and opportunities that appeared in the upper left hand corner of the lower 48 over the last 300 years is unprecedented.

Thay all came...the hunter, the trapper, the traveler, the logger, the homesteader, the farmer, the riverman, the stonecutter, the fisherman, the builder, the dreamer, and the schemer to mix with the acient ways of indigenous peoples.

Since 1927, Dutch Harbor Gear, which is a privately owned family company, has worked hard within this diversity to develop products that have the widest range of function possible at price points reflecting a fair value and suitable to the task.

Dutch Harbor Gear is an outfitter to the great Alaskan fishing fleets and canneries along the entire Pacific Coast.  We're used in mines, logging camps and lumber mills throught the Pacific Northwest.  Ranchers, farmers and construction workers depend on our products.  Our gear is also used by adventure seekers, sailors, backpackers, campers, riverrunners,and sport fishermen.

Through the names of our products, we invite you to celebrate the history, culture and function of this unique and exciting corner of the world.
